Dr. Katerina Karoussos
I am an intermedia artist. From 2012 to 2016, I was the Director of I-Node of the Planetary Collegium, the Greek node for doctoral and postdoctoral studies (School of Arts and Media) of the University of Plymouth, UK. From 2004 until 2015, I worked as a freelancer in the Athens School of Fine Arts, at the Byzantine Art Studio, where I created the Digital Repository of Byzantine art of the Roman & Palaeologean Era. I hold a PhD from Plymouth University and a Master's from Middlesex University.
I have participated in many international conferences (ISEA, Aber, Dimea, Consciousness Reframed Series, etc.). I have published in many academic journals (Metaverse Creativity, Technoetic Arts, etc.) and have been the editor/co-editor of the Technoetic Arts Journal and a peer reviewer of the Leonardo Journal.
I have participated in many international exhibitions (Athens, Japan, New York, Frankfurt, Montenegro, Cuba, etc.).
In 2018, I founded ‘The Karoussos Archives,’ a research center, putting cultural heritage in practice, encouraging sustainable development and social advancement. I am working at the Karoussos Chapel immersive dome as a virtual fresco painter.
